Thanks for visiting. Also check out my MySpace page. August 2008 - So, I followed the trail from Townes Van Zandt, up through Mississippi John Hurt and Dave Van Ronk, and suddenly I'm playing Ragtime, Piedmont blues, Jazz, Folksongs and Alt. Country as "Choir Deets". Why would I do such a thing? Admit it, you might wear a Choir Deets girly-T, but you sure as heck wouldn't wear a Mike Trebilcock one. I know I wouldn't. Of course I play some old favourites as well. I'm also playing guitar for Austin Texas' Jean Caffeine; temporarily replanted, and tied to her own pulled-up stakes. Check out the "Tour dates" page for updates on when and where to catch live shows. I recently wrote and performed the musical score for a short film called "The Tenant", directed by Isil Degirmencioglu for which I had the opportunity to explore Persian/Middle Eastern music, giving me a legitimate excuse to purchase and play an Oud. Lastly, my Cajun/Zydeco radio show (which Buckwheat Zydeco told me should really be called a "Creole" radio show) is full steam ahead - until football season at Mac. The above photos are by Sabrina Armani. Painting is "Surprised" by Philip R. Goodwin, 1882 - 1935.
Smiles Everyone. Love, Choir "Shaky" Deets (or whoever I am.)
